BELVIDERE, Ill. — Violet Munoz was one of the 260 people attending a heavy metal concert at the Apollo Theater last Friday night when an EF-1 tornado tore through."You could hear screaming," Munoz said. "I didn't know if the world was ending, or it was a tornado."Damage from the storm caused so much damage, the roof of the theater came crashing down, killing at least one person, while also injuring more than 40 others.Munoz was hospitalized and returned to the theater Monday to collect her jacket that was left behind in the chaos."I was pulled from the rubble by my boyfriend Eric Biel," Munoz said. Bill passes Texas Senate that would crack down on catalytic converter thieves

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Texas Senate passed a bill on Monday that would issue harsher penalties for people involved in catalytic converter thefts."This has become a very violent crime, a very sophisticated crime," said Texas Sen. Carol Alvarado, D-Houston, one of the bill's authors. The legislation puts stricter punishments in place for individuals even found in possession of catalytic converters. PREVIOUS: Texas lawmakers hope their effort could stop catalytic converter thefts "There's no good reason you should be in possession of a catalytic converter, and the presumption should be that it was stolen because this is not a victimless crime," said Sen. Relatives, friends grieve after infant killed by driver as family walked on sidewalk in Orange County

A family is grieving after their 11-month-old infant was killed when a driver lost control of his vehicle, hopped a curb and hit the child and his parents as they were walking on the sidewalk Sunday in Orange County.  The incident occurred around 4:15 p.m. near Antonio Parkway and Oak Tree Lane in the small community of Las Flores.   Authorities said a 54-year-old San Clemente man, now identified as Daniel Patrick Lenihan, was traveling north on Antonio Parkway in a 2017 Hyundai Sonata when he left the roadway for an unknown reason and hit the family as they were walking with their child in a stroller.  Residents of nearby Rancho Santa Margarita, the victims have been identified as 34-year-old Kyle Ohlwiler, 31-year-old Hayley Ohlwiler and 11-month-old Madden Ohlwiler.   Infant killed after driver hits family walking on sidewalk in Orange County All three were rushed to a hospital in Mission Viejo with serious injuries.
